About the atlas
Built to keep Missouri German history visible.
The German Missouri Heritage Atlas is a small, independent history project. There is no company or organization behind it. The site honors the families, faith communities, towns, trades, and traditions that German Missourians built and handed down across generations.
What belongs here
The atlas brings together visitor-facing heritage places, German-settled communities, family-name research, festivals, food traditions, and links to current German news. It asks Missourians to remember what earlier generations built and help carry that inheritance forward. It is a guide for further exploration, not a replacement for local museums, archives, congregations, historical societies, or family records.

Sources & method
How entries are chosen
Entries begin with public information from official agencies, museums, historical societies, community organizations, and visitor bureaus. Each major section links directly to its supporting sources. Dates, hours, and event details can change, so visitors should confirm plans with the linked organizer.
